Monsoon in Portal

We've been getting some wonderful monsoon rains here in Portal.  Last week at our house we had 2.1 inches in just 4 days.   Last night we had a gentle rain all night long 'til 7am this morning.  Got another 3/4 inch of rain in the last two days.  The creek is running again and things are greening up.  The insects are really active.  I watched a bunch of Dung Beetles clean up one of Mr. Browns poop piles!  I'd been looking for the dog's poop so I could clean it up, and I hadn't found any in a few days.  Now I know why!  The Dung Beetles have been cleaning it up before I can get to it!  I was amazed at how fast they cleaned up the whole pile!    Check out this short video of their super strength and endurance!
